Frequently Asked Questions for "Free Poker"

Is my establishment (bar, restaurant, hotel) a good fit for poker?
Most likely, yes. You will want to have enough room to fit 3-5 of our full size Texas Hold’em Poker tables, which are 7.5 feet long and 3.5 feet wide. The Ideal number being three tables we can work with any size venue (smaller or larger).

How long do these tournaments run?
Typically a standard tournament runs between 3 - 4 hours. We also run consolation games. These are designed to keep players at your location. Regardless of their ability, they have more chances to win and more reason to stick around.

What are players playing for?
We award league points to players on a nightly basis which qualify them for monthly, quarterly and yearly tournaments. At these tournaments every player has the chance to compete for actual prizes and seats into WPT events year around and across the nation.

How will a typical Poker Night work?

  1. You provide the space, wait staff, food & drinks.
  2. We provide everything else.

At least one hour before tournament start time, trained NYFP dealers will set up the tables. At about the same time, players will begin to arrive and register. While they wait they will be met by your staff providing them with menus and specials. Our staff then runs the main event from start to finish, scheduling breaks and advancing the tournament. Players who are knocked out early can play in consolation games.  The friendly, well-trained NYFP staff handles it all from setup to breakdown. We will leave your place in the same condition as when we got there. All you need to worry about is making sure the drinks are never empty and they leave feeling satisfied with their entire experience.

Do the players pay anything to play?

No! NYFP is 100% free to play poker. Venues are not allowed to charge a cover or buy-in and players are never allowed to gamble anything of value.

  • There are no cash/value requirements for tournament entry.
  • Gambling is not allowed and will not be tolerated.
  • Players may never risk anything of value.
  • No cash on the poker tables.
  • Players are awarded poker league points, which have no value.

How do we promote poker events and make sure they are successful?
Before the grand opening event, our team will implement our marketing plan in your target area. A key to that plan will be providing all of the necessary marketing materials. Included in our materials package are the following:
1) 3 feet by 8 feet full color banner
2) 20 x 30 full color poster
3) 5 - 11X17 full color posters
4) 5000 flyers distributed by our team
5) Table tents for your tables

We've found that the most successful venues engage in their own marketing as well. Remember to make sure everyone who comes into your venue knows you offer poker tournaments. Educate your staff on the nights you host events and how it runs. So when people see our poster in your venue and have a question you are ready with the right answers.
